Alex Thevenot explores "The New Human" as a fluid, collective identity. His project, "The Metamorphosis," uses a mirror portal to reflect, fragment, and merge the physical attributes of participants, forming an evolving hybrid body. This interactive installation addresses our perceived notion of self in an effort to embrace togetherness through physical, sociological, and spiritual transformations. By facing the interactive rotating sculpture, viewers align their physical symmetry to create an infinite amount of changing personas, bringing insight into the nature of shared existence.
The New Human is...
The New Human is a collective hybrid. For Alex, this means our identity is not fixed within our own skin but is instead a metamorphic process that occurs when we merge with others through the mediation of art and light.
