Speculative Processes for stuck moments
Arden Schager: The New Human - Creative Hackathon Submission

Join the Team
Arden is looking for folks with strong conceptual and ethical alignment:
Partners who share a similar understanding of the creative process.
Collaborators interested in speculative methods and biotech.
Arden Schager addresses the deep tensions of our current inflection point—where powerful tools are made by ethically dubious companies and connectivity often leads to loneliness. His vision is to work through these feelings using creative speculative processes. He is particularly interested in how biotech could be used to literally make new humans this century. By using speculative methods, he hopes to think outside or beyond the current moment where things feel “stuck and strange”. He is inspired by the “Emissaries” work of Ian Cheng, which uses AI to create autonomous, evolving worlds.
The New Human is...
The New Human is a speculative explorer. For Schager, this means using the creative process to navigate the ethical tensions of the modern age, moving toward a future that is intentionally designed rather than one we simply stumble into.
