Anastasiia Tsukanova’s vision is centered on "The Reef Model," which suggests that posthumanist ideas are not abstract theories but lived experiences. This occurs when sound, body, and technology merge to create an "expanded version of the self". Her work as a violinist informs her spatial and temporal thinking, which she applies to creating audiovisual systems that expand the listening experience. She seeks to move beyond isolated creation toward a collaborative energy where art, science, and technology are unified through "reef-thinking"—the idea that we thrive as part of a larger, interconnected ecosystem.
The New Human is...
The New Human is a reef-thinker. For Tsukanova, this means the new human is an interdisciplinary entity whose boundaries are expanded through collaboration and the merging of biological and digital soundscapes.
