Presenting our annual CODAME ART+TECH Festival [2018] #ARTOBOTS
A four day conference with workshops, talks and nightlife @ The Midway, San Francisco, June 4–7, 2018.
This year’s CODAME ART+TECH Festival, codenamed #ARTOBOTS, examines the ever expanding and ever more tangible sphere of robotics, automation, and artificial intelligence.
Automatons orchestrate much of our lives, from the artificial intelligences that translate our global conversations to the industrial robots that give us our digital toys. For many of us, this activity hums as background noise to our existence. Yet these processes in robotics, automation and artificial intelligence are already intimately entwined with our bodies and minds.
In the daily movements we make, the messages we send, and the sensations we experience, we already collaborate with these entities in increasingly varied, tactile and tangible ways. Bots mediate our relationships with ourselves, each other and our environments. While many of these interactions are familiar to us, there are myriad ways to move, think, sense and feel with our lively machines. Through art, discussion, play and performance, CODAME ART+TECH probes these potentials.
#Program
Workshops, Talks and Nightlife Performances and Installations.
This wide-ranging conference will bring artists, inventors, dancers, creative technologists, and other thought leaders together in conversation and exploration. By day, an interdisciplinary assemblage of innovators will give workshops and lectures on the field’s urgent questions and latest developments. By night, we will wander the imaginative terrain of interactive installations and performance. We will showcase ambitious explorations in the field of ART+TECH, from work imagining future machines to intelligent automations crafting masterpieces before your eyes.
Day 1 & 2: June 4–5th — Workshops
Day 3 & 4: June 6–7th — Workshops, Conference (Lectures/Talks/Panels) + Nightlife event featuring gallery installations and performances.
