ModBod and the Open-Source Human Form
Jordan Gray: The New Human - Creative Hackathon Submission
Join the Team
Jordan is looking for a diverse hacking squad:
Code Hackers and GLSL specialists.
3D Model Hackers and Kitbashers.
Analog Video Synthesis artists.
Jordan Gray’s vision for the "ModBod" project focuses on captured human forms and the infinite possibilities that arise from remixing them. ModBod is a Creative Commons remixable archive of full-body 3D scans, designed to explore the edges of reality and perception. His work utilizes analog video synthesis on LXZ modular systems and 3D rendering techniques like raymarching to create graphics that bend and twist, creating a dissonance between the material and its physicality. The vision is to treat cultural information and individual narrative as something that can be circulated and preserved beyond geographical contexts.
The New Human is...
The New Human is a remixable archive. For Gray, this means the body and its digital representation are no longer private or static but are instead part of a larger, collective pool of data that can be kitbashed and re-envisioned by anyone.
