Visual design to enhance the aesthetic of his prototypes.
Thomas is motivated by the friction caused by the increasing rate of technological change. His vision is to use the combination of technology and art to bridge the gap between people and the systems they often struggle to understand. By creating interactive experiences that highlight the “amazing” nature of technology, he hopes to help people process these changes and move from a state of apprehension to one of appreciation. He is inspired by the underground and mechanical, seeking beauty in the functional and the robotic.
The New Human is...
The New Human is an appreciator of the technological sublime. For Redfern, this means using art to process and humanize the increasing rate of innovation, allowing for a future where humans and machines coexist in a state of mutual wonder.
